Raw data from four experiments recorded with a temperature and pH logger, and the results.
Results at a glance
- Evaporation of liquids — the faster a liquid evaporates, the more it cools. Water −0.8, ethanol −4.0, acetone −15.1 °C.
- Endothermic and exothermic reactions — calcium chloride releases heat (+11.7 °C), while ammonium nitrate absorbs it (−5.6 °C).
- pH (six samples) — lemon juice 2.2 · orange juice 3.5 · Pocari Sweat 3.5 · detergent 7.2 · water 8.0 · sodium bicarbonate 8.7 (trimmed mean).
- Neutralization reaction — equivalence point 08:05, pH 1.6 → 7 → 14.
The raw data is under data/, one file per experiment. The sensor layout, points of concern in the data, the neutralization firmware error and recalibration, and the raw data format are in the technical notes.
